JANAINA LEITE (dramaturgia, direção e performance)

Janaina Leite is a reference in research on the use of documentary and autobiography in Brazilian theater. Currently, he is completing his doctorate in performing arts supported by FAPESP, at the School of Communication and Arts (ECA / USP). In his authorial research he conceived the shows Festa da Separação: A Scenic Documentary, Conversations with My Father and Stabat Mater (winner of the Shell Theater Award in the dramaturgy category). He published the book Performative Autoescritura: do Diário à Cena, consolidating his research between practice and theory.

In 2020, Janaina Leite composed the "Researcher in Focus" axis at the São Paulo International Exhibition (MIT-Sp), with several festival actions aimed at her research. In the same year, the publisher Javali publishes the book "Conversas com meu pai + Stabat Mater, a trajectory of Janaina Leite".

She conceived and coordinated the research centers Feminine Abjeto 1, Memories, Archives and (Auto) Biographies and Feminine Abjeto 2. Janaina is also a co-founder, actress and director at Grupo XIX de Teatro, with whom she created and acted in several shows recognized by main awards and support funds in the country.

As a director, she also signs works such as "Teorema 21" and "Nothing happened ..." from Grupo XIX de Teatro, "Branco: or the smell of lily and formaldehyde" in partnership with Alexandra Dal Farra and "PEÇA" winner of the award APCA for the best virtual show of 2020, with performance and text by Marat Descartes. Works in the orientation of workshops, courses and lectures in Brazil. He was also a guest speaker at the National Theater Conservatory of Paris, at the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 University, at the Higher School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto and at the Higher School of Cinema and Theater in Lisbon. Currently, he is developing the project "Scopophilic Essays for a History of the Eye" researching the relationship between theater and pornography.
